Natural Art Practitioner's Course with Richard Shilling
THIS WORKSHOP WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY, MARCH 18 (1PM-3:30PM)
LIMITED TO 20 STUDENTS
THIS WORKSHOP REQUIRES A TICKET- AVAILABLE HERE
Join us for this natural practitioner's course with renowned U.K. environmental artist Richard Shilling. This course is suitable for forest school leaders, teachers, artists, earth artists, art students or anyone interested in learning about environmental art techniques and methods or those just looking for time out from the "rat race". No self-perceived artistic talent is required. The techniques you will be shown are simple and accessible yet will result in fascinating creation of which you will be proud.
* We will explore the creation process and how the art is developed by deepening your relationship with nature. We seek to discover, through the practice of ephemeral art, the subtle nuances, and be drawn into the environment and start to understand the cycles and processes of flux and transience.
* You will be guided through this process so you can discover for yourself its ethos via its practice. You will take with you a deeper understanding of how to continue your journey and make further progress through this art form.
* You will also investigate different creation methods and techniques using natural materials and limited tools.
ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED? Yes, accompanied children are allowed. Parents or guardians are responsible for their welfare at all times. Please be aware that the workshops are designed for adults and are not suitable for young children.

Cynthia is the founder and leader of Raks Sanan, San Angelo's bellydance troupe. For festivals and faires, she becomes Nola, Queen of the Pirates, when she leads the crew of the Concho Pearl from our river...to yours. Cap'n Nolas's motto is "If it's not fun, we're not doing it right."
Kids Yoga with Emily Isbell
Saturday, 2:15-3:00pm, Workshop Tent, Elementary Aged Kids
Classes move in creative ways, act out stories, practice mindful breathing and listening, and interact with kindness and compassion. Children learn basic yoga movement, mindful sense-exploration, breathing techniques, and self-awareness. They wiggle and giggle, dance freely, play drums and howl, practice silence, and listen with the whole body. Teachers seek out and nurture innate gifts of their little yogis, and always strive to lead them in healthy self-expression.
Empathy art began in a messy sketchbook during a time when Emily was rather uprooted. With no distinct home, she found refuge in her sketchbook and on her mat. When painting or practicing asana, she dissolves into the spacious seat of the witness. From this place, she has grown and been inspired to share with others the stabilizing force of awareness practices. https://www.empathyart.vision/

60 minute yoga class. Slow flow based focusing on breath and calming the mind and body. Embodiment with some meditation. Suitable for ALL levels.
My mission is to help each student find his or her personal yoga practice that suits his or her spirit, mind and body. Mine is not a ‘one size fits all’ approach, but rather a flow based style with an emphasis on breath within movement. Based on the needs of each individual class, I focus on poses that help counteract our modern lifestyle of sitting, driving and using our devices. I enjoy teaching all levels and thrive on the challenge of modifying a class to address a wide spectrum of students, from the beginner to the advanced practitioner.
